YouTubers Zac Alsop and Jamie Rawsthorne are never ones to shy away from a challenge – but they outdid themselves when they managed to fill an innocent Zoom call with their mates with celebrities.
The lads are best known for their challenges and experiments, which have seen them sneak onto a red carpet with Leonardo DiCaprio, and make a grandma famous at Fashion Week.
However, their latest one saw them challenging their mates to bring the most famous person into their Zoom call – ending up in Dame Judi Dench, and beauty guru James Charles casually rocking up.
Chatting exclusively to Metro.co.uk, Jay explained: ‘We just thought one day, what would happen if…we invited a few friends from YouTube and we had a bit of a challenge to see who could get the biggest celebrity in by doing nothing but sending a message [saying] “Join this Zoom call now, I’ll explain later.”
‘It just escalated, one guy heard about it who Zac knows who is actually Judi Dench’s grandson and, before you know it, we had all the YouTubers in, people from Love Island, people from Geordie Shore, and then Dame Judi Dench pops up.’
Starting the call with none other than Josh Pieters (who could forget his elaborate prank on Katie Hopkins?), the pair were shocked when beauty guru James popped in.
‘The British YouTube community is quite tight knit…there’s no reason why we would ever chat to James Charles [in normal life]!’ they laughed.
Explaining that they were keen to ‘infiltrate Hollywood’, Zac and Jay added: ‘We were one connection away from David Dobrik, and if we had got David Dobrik in, then no doubt we would have had Charlie Puth, [he] would have been the key to Hollywood!’
As for their dream guest? Well, forget about any more A-Listers, because the pair of them had just one man in mind.
‘In terms of actual celebrities, I would have loved to get Russell Tovey in because Jay and him look exactly the same, it would have been like a crossover,’ Zac admitted, with the pair of them admitting they’ve got ‘unfinished business’ with Leonardo DiCaprio after their red carpet video.
However, theboys aren’t stopping there, teasing that they’ll most likely drop a part two at some stage – and that’s not all they’re planning.
‘I’m climbing Everest inside our flat,’ Zac added. ‘We’re working out how many flights of steps and what kind of distance that is and I’m just gonna climb Everest in the flat next week.’
We’re exhausted just thinking about it.
